Telephone tax refund is real ($30 to $60)

This is one of those blog postings that I’m reluctant to write.

Who in their right mind is going to believe that Uncle Sam wants to give you $30 to $60 with no strings attached? That’s the problem.

The US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is offering nearly every taxpayer a one-time payment to compensate for telephone taxes Uncle Sam was not authorized to collect. And, so far, the IRS reports that one-quarter to one-third of all filers have not claimed their refund. There is no documentation required other than listing it on your tax return. (You can apply for a larger sum if you can document your actual telephone usage during the applicable time period.)

If you prepare your own taxes or if you pay someone to do it, make sure they know about the telephone tax refund and you get your share.
